CFI Volunteers Needed

On December 19, 2008 Hamas refused to extend the six month cease-fire with Israel that had been brokered by Egypt. Toward the end of the cease-fire and especially the first few days following it, Hamas began provoking Israel with intensive firing of Kassam rockets. There were several days when 30-40 rockets were launched on southern Israel.

On Saturday December 27, with no other alternative available to prevent the attacks, the Israeli Air Force began attacking Hamas forces in Gaza. This decision to respond came after years of rocket attacks when over 10,000 Kassams were aimed predominantly at the little town of Sderot and the surrounding kibbutzim.

On January 3, 2009 a land invasion of Gaza was initiated. Should the fighting continue in the upcoming weeks, there will be many extremely difficult periods of house-to-house and street-to-street combat. The Israeli Defense Force will face tremendous challenges to uncover all the Hamas strongholds.

Christian Friends of Israel (CFI) will be there to help those Communities Under Attack during this time. CFI will provide relief for those families directly affected by the rocket attacks. This relief may include the repairing of homes, schools, or the easing of financial burdens. Your donation will only be used to help those Israelis most in need.
