Since the Intifada began eight years ago, Israel has been fighting a war on terror. Today as in the days of old when the challenge of Goliath was, "I defy the armies of Israel this day," the Islamic Jihad spirit behind the Arab nations is disputing Israel's right to the Land, defying God's Word and calling for Israel's total destruction. As the nations rise up against Israel, may each one in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) respond, "You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield; but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel…" (I Samuel 17:45).
The enemies of the Jewish State intend to attack in full force and the fighting men and women, young and seasoned, who serve in the Israeli Army are going to need our earnest intercession and prevailing prayer support! They physically serve on the "front lines."
We do what we can at Christian Friends of Israel to reach out to the Soldiers of
Israel to bless them in creative ways. Twice a year during Pesach (Passover) and
Rosh Hashana (New Year) we prepare over 1,000 care packages, which are given to
nine different Army bases in Israel. We also visit and console the families of
the wounded and fallen soldiers. When a young man or woman is killed in the line
of duty, a tree is planted in his/her memory and a certificate is sent to the
family.
